Collagen is a protein that is the principal constituent of fibrous connective tissues, found in skin, bones and cartilage. It is also found exclusively in animals, representing 30% of animal protein matter.
Collagen ensures the cohesion, elasticity and regeneration of the skin, bone and cartilage. There are various types of collagen that are found in specific places in the body.
Types of Collagen
Our hydrolysed German Fish Collagen is a marine-based collagen. They are wild caught fishes from the deep oceans such as cod, haddock and pollock. These fishes are free from growth hormones or antibiotics. While most collagen is extracted from the skin of pigs, cattle, chickens and other farm raised animals. Collagen is the primary protein found in skin and bones.
Why hydrolyse our collagen?Hydrolysed collagen is easier to digest. When collagen is hydrolysed, protein molecules are broken down into smaller molecules, leading to easier and faster absorption into the body.
What are amino acids in hydrolysed fish collagen? The origin of the collagen does not matter. Collagen is composed of amino acids and have the same Chemical Abstracts Service (CAS) number ‘68410-45-7’. The only difference is the percentage of amino acids present in the collagen.
Each C-Jello collagen bar is 20g and contains 2500mg of hydrolysed collagen peptide and essential nutrients, effectively slowing down one’s ageing process. At the same time, it also hydrates, whitens, firms, tones, and boosts the youthful vitality of skin.
91%increase in skin hydration and resiliency
A 2008 Tokyo study was done on 100 women aged 40 to 60. Those who consumed 10g of Hydrolysed Collagen daily for two months displayed a 91% increase in skin hydration and resiliency.
41%improvement in deep wrinkles
A Dermiscan study done in 2008 in Lyon, France uncovered similar findings in a group of participants aged 35 to 55 via the Corneometer and Skin Image Analyser Technology. After 12 weeks of consuming 10g of Hydrolysed Collagen daily, there was a 41% improvement in deep wrinkles, especially around the forehead area. Overall, the participants’ skin became more resilient and hydrated.
Renew skin, builds bone and ligaments
Scientific studies have also shown the correlation of consuming hydrolysed collagen and its proven ability to renew skin, and build bones and ligaments in our body.
